Sheikh Dr. Hafiz Ishaq Zahid (حفظه الله)

Born on March 10, 1968, in Shujaabad, Multan, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ishaq Zahid hails from a family with deep religious roots. His Quranic education began at his village mosque under Qari Muhammad Tahir, followed by studies in Persian and Arabic grammar from his father, Maulana Ghulam Murtaza, and uncle, Maulana Ghulam Mustafa. He continued his religious education at Madrasa Ashraf-ul-Uloom, Shujaabad, before moving to Dar-ul-Uloom Rahmania in Lahore, where he studied under renowned scholars such as Mufti Hafiz Sanaullah Madani and Hafiz Abdul Rahman Madani. During this time, he also completed his Matriculation, securing a first division.

In 1986, he was accepted into the Faculty of Hadith at the Islamic University of Madinah, where he studied under esteemed teachers like Sheikh Omar Hassan Falata, Dr. Ziaur Rahman Azmi, and Qari Muhammad Ayub, former Imam of the Prophet’s Mosque (رحمهم الله). After earning his degree, he returned to Lahore in 1991, teaching at Dar-ul-Uloom Rahmania for four years. 

In 1994, he moved to Kuwait, serving as a Quran memorization teacher and later as an Imam and Khateeb under the Kuwait’s Ministry of Awqaf, a role he continues to fulfill. He also teaches in the Urdu department of Darul Quran. During his time abroad, he pursued higher education, earning an MA in Islamic Studies from Punjab University and an MA in Arabic from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. In 2007, he completed his PhD at the University of Karachi, focusing on the history, causes, and significance of Hadith. 

 

Alongside his teaching career, Dr. Ishaq Zahid has made significant contributions to Islamic literature through translations and original works, His most notable work is Zaad al-Khatib, a comprehensive guide for Khutba. Published by Jamiat Ihya al-Turath al-Islami, this series has gained widespread acclaim. Through his teaching, writing, and religious knowledge, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Ishaq Zahid continues to inspire and educate people worldwide.
